Anti-war protester attacks reporter at Obama event

“Obama is a war criminal” an anti-war protester screamed as he lunged at CBS Chicago reporter Jay Levine on Wednesday night. Video from both the CBS broadcast and the local NBC affiliate show the man running towards Levine and grabbing both him and his microphone.

The reporter and another bystander were able to fight off the protester and restrain him. A large group of police arrived shortly after to protect the reporter from further aggression by the protester. The protester was not, however, arrested.

Though NBC Chicago’s Mary Ann Ahern describe those at the scene as “shaken up” there were no reported injuries and both reporters were able to get finish their initial reports on President Obama’s fundraiser.
